Well today started rather badly, I failed to get up in time to meet friends before this event started ...sorry John & Mark ...!

Realising it was going to be impossible for me to make the start of this event, I took a few shots locally while there was some still frost about before heading off to Liverpool to catch the stranglers from the Santa Dash ...and as you can image there where a few who decided to make a day of things.
I don't think it has been confirmed yet but there could have well over over 8,000 Santa's taking part this year and not only hopefully setting a new record but also raising a lot of money for charity.

Well I had a great day in the end, we had lunch and stayed until the Christmas lights came on and with plenty of shoppers still about and a German Market, we all got some great images.
I really do like street photography especially when there are lots of people milling about it easy to get shots without them realising they are the photographic subject. My favourite from today has to be the smiling girl walking past the market stall, the smile on her face says it all. (For those interested ISO 3200, 16-35mm lens at 30mm F4 1/250 only ambient light)
Thanks John and Mark for being such good company today.
Marc;-)
