The Early Bird ...

Catches The Worm ..?
A certain amount of determination is required with most things to get the best results and with landscape photography that is no exemption. The best light being early morning and late evening, usually the morning being the more dramatic.

So last Sunday morning a couple of photographer friends and myself headed off to Delamere Forest to get some early morning shots. By the time we got there it was 6.45 am the it appeared the best part of the morning had already passed as although we had seen a lot of mist over water and some fields on route, there was very little mist at our chosen landscape spot. Nevertheless, I think we did get some atmospheric shots of what little mist there was being light by the sun's rays most of which were around 7.30 am. But we also know a much earlier start may have given us even better results. So the alarm clock is going to have to be set even earlier next time.

Experienced landscape photographers (which I wouldn't class myself as)visit and research the area they plan to shoot many times before even taking a camera and usually sleep at the spot they are going to photograph to allow them to get the right vantage point at least an hour before day break ..... not sure about my level of dedication to this...!
