There are many advantages of having two photographers covering a wedding and for me the most obvious is to have two different aspects of the wedding ceremony covered. By having one photographer at the front of the church and other at the back, especially if there is a balcony within the church, or civil venue, to allow for some very wonderful high vantage point shots.
For most full day wedding coverage, I now use an assistant who is also very capable with a camera to capture the shots I am not able to get to, whether that is in church or say shots of the grooms party if the bride is either running late or the two locations are some distance apart. All of which helps to create a full story of the day in it's entirety as it happens.
The images here demonstrate this well from Simon & Callie's wedding in June of this year, assisted by Warren Garrett.
